How old does a child have to be to swim alone?

The child needs to be 10 years old and have completed a swim test to be in the Aquatic Center by themselves.  Any child between the ages 8 and 9 can be in the pool by themselves but a guardian must be on the Aquatic Center deck.  Any child 7 years and younger must be accompanied by a guardian who is in the water with the child and within arms reach of the child at all times.
